When an IT asset needs to be returned, secure arrangements have to be made for transportation in order to ensure data security. While in transit, an asset is at a heightened risk of loss or theft, opening up the possibility of a breach in data security. To prevent this happening, at Absolute IT we offer a secure returns management service.

How does our returns management service work?

Our experienced supply chain management team adopt a systematic approach to receiving and processing your returns.

• At the point of collection, each asset is logged into an asset management database and loaded into a secure collection vehicle. From then on, a strict process is followed with an audit trail documenting the chain of custody from collection to delivery at the asset’s final destination.
• As a first step, your assets are taken to our holding facility in Derby, where they are checked in, and stored securely until they are processed for return. Once sensitive data is cleansed and data security verified, our team then removes all branding, asset tags and identification stickers from the assets.
• The assets are now ready to be returned to the custody of the original manufacturer, where, if relevant, they can be exchanged for new assets which we can then return to you.
